Lakshmi Ramachandra
Lakshmi Ramachandra, MSc, PhD, is the Chief of the TB and other Mycobacterial Diseases Section in the Respiratory Diseases Branch (RDB) in the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The section oversees a broad portfolio of research grants and contracts whose goal is to advance fundamental knowledge of mycobacterial diseases, support the discovery and development of TB diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics and to support and mentor the next generation of TB researchers. Prior to joining the NIH, Dr. Ramachandra was faculty at Case Western Reserve University working in TB research.
