Patrick Phillips
Patrick Phillips, PhD, is Associate Professor in Residence in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCSF, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Before joining UCSF in 2017, he was a senior statistician at the MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL in London. Patrick’s research program focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing clinical trials of novel tuberculosis (TB) regimens to deliver safer, shorter, and more effective treatments, with an emphasis on statistical methods that improve efficiency, interpretability, and global impact. Patrick has led the statistical aspects of large, late-phase TB trials for nearly two decades. He leads the UCSF Center for TB Biostatistics Core and is co-director of the UCTRAC Clinical and Population Health Core.
